The su-271/pas is an uncooled thermal clip-on weapon sight that adds thermal imaging capability to an existing day optic during all lighting conditions. It can also be used as a stand-alone weapon sight or a handheld thermal viewer. It is powered by 3 each lithium or alkaline aa batteries, or 2 each lithium cr123 batteries. It mounts to a mil-std-1913 rail interface via a single locking throw lever mount. Color is tan. May be used with the m4a1 carbine, mk17 combat assault rifle, and is caliber non-specific.
