A two-piece metallic item, one piece usually tubular in appearance and flanged at one end, the other piece a plain tooth or spur washer or retaining ring. It is primarily used for lining and reinforcing the edges of holes. The unflanged end is designed to be inserted through a hole and retained in place by being crimped over the plain or tooth washer or retaining ring or by clinching action between the spur washer and the flanged end.
