A brick 2-1/4 inches (57.15mm) wide, manufactured essentially of temperature stable mineral aggregates, formed by pressure into a soap shape. It is suitable for constructing industrial and boiler furnaces. Resistance to temperature is the prime characteristic, but resistance to one or more of the destructive actions of spalling, abrasion, slag attack, or load is usually required. Excludes brick, insulating, high temperature.
