A tool used for chopping and splitting wood. Also used for cleaning land of under brush. The head of a single-bit ax shall have a cutting bit or blade on one end and a flat or slightly conveyed rectangular surface defined as the "top face" on the opposite end. All single-bit axes shall be furnished with curved or straight wooden or fiberglass handles. For items with one blade and another working end such as a hammer, see hatchet, as modified.
