A non-aircraft electronic unit that works in conjunction with a governor/actator that continously monitors engine speed, temperature, and air flow and adjusts the fuel control to compensate for changes. it is used with diesel or gas engines, or steam or gas tubines. it may include load sharing capabilities, rotor speed governing, loss-of-load protection and analog or manual back-up modes. it may contain automatic start capability or self-diagnostic circuitry.
