Helm pump steering, seastar 2.4 - tilt; helm rotor supported by three roller bearings; ball bearing piston race; 1/4in. Npt ports; built-in lock valve for postive rudder lock; bleed tubes; internal air pocket eliminates oil expansion overflow; integral relief valve setting: 1000 psi; displacement: 2/4 cu.In/rev
A positive displacement device which utilizes the reciprocating motion of a multiple number of parallel pistons arranged axially in a cylinder barrel as a means of transferring a liquid from one place to another. The pistons are actuated by revolving the cylinder barrel at an angle to the drive shaft axis or by a tilting box when the cylinder barrel revolves on the drive shaft. The piston displacement may be fixed or variable. It is designed to be driven by a prime mover which is not an integral part of the pump.
Classification: Hydraulic fluid power pumps, radial piston type
