The prime cut exothermic cutting rod is comprised of a seamless copper coated steel tub (which serves as the outer casing) containing alloy fuel wires. The interior wires are arranged in a circular pattern with a clear center oxygen path. The wires are retained within the tube by circular crimps. The rod ends are machined to a smooth surface to attain a tight seal within the torch and ensure longevity of the neoprene collet washer.
A coated or uncoated nonfiller material in solid rod form. It is used to cut and pierce or groove and chamfer ferrous or nonferrous metals where the melting heat is supplied through the medium of an electric arc wherein the rod serves as carrier of the electric current. Excludes electrode, welding.
