The fs-gds is comprised of two lightweight tripods, two acoustic arrays, twelve (four extra) microphones, eight wind caps, one compass, one measuring tape, one phantom warrior flashlight, one array phase tester, one diam, a laptop computer, four sets of cables, and two cable reels with 80 meters of cable each. The fs-gds can be setup by a single soldier during reconnaissance and zone surveillance missions as a gunfire alert system. The arrays are mounted on tripods. The ground version arrays can be separated up to 400 meters, depending upon the amount of cable available. The arrays must be surveyed with a compass and measuring tape to provide reference position inputs. Each system is provided with its own satchel or shockproof container equipped with a strap. The power supply can be a separate standard 12 volt battery (12 hour) or hookup to the vehicle power. Comes with a pivot, nsn: 5825-01-567-2386.
